The best way to hold on to the Lord isn’t to grasp or cling to, for we can’t. In fact, we couldn’t get even an inch closer to Him if we tried. Even if we tried very hard.

The only way to hold the Lord really close is to almost literally run to him, throw yourself in his arms and let Him to hold you. To let go and put yourself completely in His hands. And to let him hold you so closely and tightly. Knowing, even at that moment, that if he chooses to let go, that you couldn’t stop him a bit. Yet being secured, and not a bit fearful, in the knowledge that He wouldn’t let you go, though He definitely could. Because He wants to hold you. So closely, so tightly. Because He wants you, more than you could ever want Him, more than you could ever know.
And just to lie there, is the safest, best place to be.
