How to die
The things that God taught me today:
How to die
Philippians 3:7 - 11
“But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ-the righteousness that comes from God and is by faith. I want to know Christ and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in His sufferings, becoming like Him in His death, and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead.”
Doing things by the flesh. It will definitely burn us out. But that’s not the point. The important thing is that it will not please God, and the work that is done is not acceptable to Him at all. That’s because His point is for us to know Him. That’s what He created us for. And doing things in the flesh will not help us know Him. We’ll learn how to strategise, organise, implement, but not to know Him better.
Doing things by the Spirit. As we learn to depend on Him, and walk through everything with Him in faith, we get to see His power, His love, His Glory. As we let Him work His wonders through us, we get to know Him more. And that’s the point. And it will please God, and the work that is done will be acceptable in His sight. And that’s my point.
That means letting the Lord work through my weakness to demonstrate His strength.
2 Corinthians 11:9 - 10 “But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest in me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”

Mark 4: 1-20 Sower’s Seeds
John 12:24
I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.
The man who loves his life will lose it, while the man who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life.
Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me.
