What I Want
I want to have:
I want to be:
And I want all these now, and always, all at the same time.
Yet more than all these, I want to be:
And I thank God that I have had all these in the first 2 groups that I wanted, sometime in my life, even if they have gone away or will go away in time, and that He gave me the best, and that He is the best.
- The extended family I had when I was 8 (when I was close to them and still thought I could trust them),
The family I had when I was 12 (when I was really close to my family),
The workload I had when I was Pri. 5 (when work was starting to be challenging but little enough to be relaxing),
The excitement for God I had when I was 14 (when I accepted Christ),
The girl-friends I had in Sec. School & JC (the closest),
The cliques I had in JC (the most fun),
The working environment I had in church office,
The cellgroup I have in Uni (the closest I ever had),
The project group I have in Year 1 Psy (the most ‘on’ & fun),
As much time as I do one week after exams (or as when I was in kindergarten),
As much energy as I do when I wake up after 10 hrs of sleep,
The youth I have now for always.
I want to be:
As thin as I was when I was 3 (and have as nice skin),
As innocent as I was as a little child,
As wise as I could ever be in this life,
Unique so I know I’m not boring,
Normal so I know I’m not weird,
As happy as can be.
And I want all these now, and always, all at the same time.
Yet more than all these, I want to be:
As loving towards the people around me as Jesus was,
Work as hard as I could for those I love and more, because God loves them,
As submissive as a bondservant, as delightful as an obedient child to my heavenly Father,
As contented in all circumstances, as I am in God’s presence,
And I thank God that I have had all these in the first 2 groups that I wanted, sometime in my life, even if they have gone away or will go away in time, and that He gave me the best, and that He is the best.
