BEAUTIFUL BEYOND COMPREHENSION

A lot of times you can’t see this beauty when you’re in the midst of a storm. You just can’t see, you just don't understand, and you’re not in the mood to comprehend much beauty either. You can see it best at the end of the trail, there’s a certain point in time when you look back, and see the big picture of all the things that have happened. It’s at that point in time when you really see, what it’s all about, the time when you give thanks.

And even this seeing, this thanksgiving requires faith, because someone could come up to you and ask, was it really worth it? All that pain and trouble, all those hurts and frustration? Remember the time you were laid up at home for 3 weeks? All those tears you cried when you couldn’t pray… Well, was it worth it? And your answer is, I don’t know. Because those things did hurt you. Because if you had been able to go back in time and was asked, whether you would choose those hurts, knowing the ending, you would still be hard put to actually choose to suffer them. Oh yes, you would make the decisions you made, you would still choose to follow the Lord, choose to be honest, but if you could still have avoided the pains, the things that made your heart ache… now wouldn’t you?

And when you weigh everything out, as though on a scale, the pains and the gains, so exactly by how much does your gains exceed your pains? But faith is not about calculating, not about weighing on scales, so when you look back you don't calculate. In fact that is the quality that makes His beauty so beyond comprehension, so perfect. You know all that wrongs are there and you can’t discount them, but the whole thing still looks so beautiful despite them. You just let Him lift you high so that you can see the beauty in His plans for you by faith, and you give Him thanks.
